I got to meet, hang out and play with a close knit group of sisters. Three of them, to be exact. The oldest sister’s best school subject was math.
The middle sister loved science.
Littlest sister’s favorite topic was all things Disney.
There was a bit of daredevilry on the playground.
Little sister had a chin boo-boo, which just added to her jaunty flair.
They were altogether a lovely, lively and playful bunch.
This is a simply wonderful and adorable family I have had the pleasure of photographing more than once. This is the story of my very first visit with them.
Things get goofy. That’s what. And I like it!
I met up with this fantabulous clan in the park early on a crisp Fall day. They were totally awesome with awesome sauce.
After making sure we had at least one really good shot with everybody (including grandmother), mom and dad decided to let the kids pick whatever THEY wanted to do. And trust me when I say, those kids came prepared.
Little sister brought along her cat mask and tickled us all pink.
And have you EVER seen such blue, blue, BLUE eyes?
We just generally hung out and had a good time.
I always try to remember to get shots of mom and dad together. It’s good to remember that before the kids came along, there was that attraction between the two of you….

And then they walked off into the sunset. Except there was no sun. And it was morning. The End.
The day I met and photographed this adventurous 7 year old girl, she was ready and totally up for adventure in the heart of Midtown, Atlanta.
A colorfully painted in-town restaurant provided lots of color and texture.
Later, we ducked down a shady alley and found this old teal colored garage door:
Those eyes. What are you gonna do? Take a picture, that’s what.
When I asked her what she liked to do, she said “run, jump, climb, play!”
I love helping people attain their goals. This super client came to me to freshen up her personal branding. She worked in the media and needed to update her media packet. Because she was a Decatur, Georgia resident we decided to feature that town’s historic downtown area as a backdrop.
We met early on a Sunday morning at the beautiful and well-known Decatur MARTA station where we had the entire square to ourselves for a couple of hours.
My client’s personal style was as vibrant, fresh and relaxed as her personality. Even her car was brightly colored!
She was awesome and we spent most of the shoot talking and laughing.
We shot around the MARTA station platform as long as the light was good and we could keep coming up with good ideas.

At the end of the session, we sat down in a local coffee shop and chatted. I could not resist this stunning profile shot. I LOVE strong profiles.
Last shot of the day came when my client’s husband and children showed up to join her. The shoes came off and everybody relaxed for a bit.
Boys HATE to have their picture taken!!! Right? Wrong…think again. This young man was a total blast to hang out with on a warm, sunny day, and appeared to love being the center of attention.
I had a great time that day and loved the results so much that I featured this photo on my digital photography teaching blog in a post about using vivid color as a backdrop. This kid? So awesome:
